Add Pages, Posts, Forms and Features in InstaWP Studio
InstaWP Studio (Beta) works inside WordPress, so it can do more than design. Ask in chat, the way you would ask a developer, and Studio adds pages, writes posts, sets up forms, changes settings and installs plugins.
Pages and posts
Ask for a new page or blog post in chat, for example:
- "Add an About page with our story and a photo of the team."
- "Add a Services page and link it in the menu."
- "Write a short blog post about our new opening hours."
Each new page is designed in your site's style. To view a page, choose it from the page switcher in the preview toolbar. See Work in the builder.
Pages and posts are standard WordPress pages and posts, so you can also edit them in WordPress. See Edit in WordPress.
Menus
Ask Studio to add, rename, reorder or remove links in the header or footer, for example "Add the Services page to the menu, after About."
Forms
Ask for a form where you need one, for example "Add an enquiry form to the Contact page with name, email and message."
Every entry is saved in WordPress. To read them, open WordPress admin and go to Studio > Forms.
WordPress settings
Studio can change your site's WordPress settings for you. For example: "Turn off comments on blog posts" or "Change the tagline to Fresh bread every morning".
Plugins and new features
Ask for a feature, and Studio finds a suitable plugin in the WordPress plugin directory, installs it and sets it up. If no plugin fits, Studio can write a small one, styled to your site.
Changes across the whole site
Some changes apply everywhere at once, for example "Use our new brand colours", "Make all the text a bit larger" or "Make every button rounded". Ask for them in one request.
What works well
| Works well | Best effort | May still need a developer |
|---|---|---|
| Pages and posts, forms that save entries, WordPress settings, installing plugins, a small shop | Memberships and user accounts, bookings, card payments, large catalogues | Complex custom features |
Every change ends with a status: Done, Partially done or Blocked. If a request is only partly done, the reply explains what is missing.
On a live site
Once your site is published, Studio asks you to approve anything that runs custom code or deletes content before it makes the change. See Publish your site.
