Edit Your Studio Site in WordPress
Every site you build in InstaWP Studio (Beta) is a real WordPress site. Alongside chat and Click to edit, you can open WordPress itself and change things there. Editing in WordPress does not use any credits.
Open WordPress
You can get to WordPress in two ways:
- From the preview: the preview shows the WordPress admin bar. Click Edit Page to open the current page in the editor, or click the site name to open the WordPress dashboard.
- From Site details: open ... (More) > Site details, then click WordPress admin.
Change text in the editor
- In the preview, click Edit Page. The WordPress Site Editor opens.
- Click a heading, paragraph or button on the page and type.
- Click Save.
To see how the page is put together, open List View (the icon with three lines in the editor's toolbar). Expand the locked groups at the top. Each section of the page is listed by its name. A section is a Custom HTML block that holds normal WordPress blocks, so you can click any heading, paragraph or button inside it to edit it.
Some parts of a section stay as HTML so the design keeps its look. Change those by asking in chat, or with Click to edit. To learn why, see How site import works.
Switching between WordPress and chat
You can switch between the WordPress editor, chat and Click to edit at any time. When you go back to chat after editing in WordPress, your manual changes are kept.
Form entries
Forms on your site save their entries in WordPress. To see them, open WordPress admin and go to Studio > Forms.
