InstaWP Affiliate Program
The InstaWP Affiliate Program pays you 5% of every payment a customer you refer makes, for the life of their account, with no cap. The program runs inside your InstaWP account. You apply, track your referrals and get paid from the same login you use for your sites and billing.
This page explains how to join, how referrals are tracked, and how payouts work. The full legal terms are in the Affiliate Program Terms.
💡 The Affiliate Program is separate from the in-app Referral Program. The Referral Program gives you and a friend InstaWP credit when they sign up and pay. See View Referral Programs. The Affiliate Program, described on this page, pays recurring cash commission through Stripe.

How to join
You apply with an InstaWP account. It can be a free account, and you never need to buy anything to earn.
Step 1: Open the application link: app.instawp.io/affiliate?campaign=instawp-hosting-affiliate-program-5-recurring. You can also start from instawp.com/affiliate.
Step 2: Sign in.
- New to InstaWP? Sign up with Google or with your email address, then verify your email. The application opens once you're verified.
- Already use InstaWP? Just log in with your existing account. You don't need a second account, and the application opens on its own.
Step 3: Answer the short application questions (for example, where you plan to share InstaWP) and submit.
Approval
Every application is reviewed by the InstaWP team. You can't start earning until you're approved.
- Approved: you receive an email titled "You're in! Set up your affiliate payouts". Its link takes you to payout setup and also verifies your email address.
- Not approved: you receive an email letting you know, sometimes with a reason.
Once you're approved, Affiliates appears in your account menu (top right) and in the Profile sidebar.
Set up payouts
Commission is paid only through Stripe Express, to the bank account you connect. Do this as soon as you're approved, because no commission can be paid out until it's done.
Go to Sell › Payouts in your dashboard and connect your Stripe account. The steps are in How to Set Up a Payout Method. It's the same screen used for WaaS payouts.
Until Stripe onboarding is complete, your affiliate dashboard shows a reminder banner. Payouts in InstaWP credits are not available.
Your affiliate dashboard
Open Affiliates from your account menu or the Profile sidebar. The dashboard has two tabs.
Summary
- Counts of visitors, leads and conversions for your link.
- A list of your leads, with the email address each one signed up with.
- A list of the referrals that became paying customers.

Your referral link
Your link looks like this:
https://app.instawp.io/?via=yourcodeYou can change the code from the Links & Promo codes tab at any time. A code must:
- Be 3 to 32 characters long.
- Not match a code another affiliate already uses, or an existing InstaWP referral code.
Share the link exactly as it is issued. A visit is only tracked when the link opens on app.instawp.io. Adding ?via=yourcode to other addresses, such as instawp.com, is not tracked.
How referrals are tracked
Tracking runs inside InstaWP, with no third-party affiliate network in between.
- Visit: someone opens your link. Each browser is counted once, so refreshes don't inflate the number. A 60-day cookie is set.
- Lead: within those 60 days, they create an InstaWP account and add a payment card. You get an email.
- Conversion: they make their first real payment: a paid invoice above $0 or a credit purchase. Spending free or promotional credits doesn't count. You get another email.
- Every payment after that: 5% of what the customer pays is credited to you.
A few rules apply:
- Last click wins. If someone clicks more than one affiliate's link, the most recent click before signup gets the credit.
- One affiliate per customer. Once an account is credited to you, it stays yours.
- No self-referrals. Your own account, or accounts you control, don't earn commission.
Blocked cookies, privacy tools, or signing up on a different device can mean a referral is never recorded.
Commission and payouts
- You earn 5% of every payment a referred customer makes, for the life of their account, with no cap on earnings or on the number of customers.
- Commission is calculated on what InstaWP actually receives, after discounts, credits and refunds, and excluding taxes and fees.
- Each commission is held for 45 days after the payment, so the refund window closes first.
- Once your approved balance reaches $50, it's paid out in the next payment round through Stripe. Below $50, it rolls over to the following round.

FAQ
I already use InstaWP. Do I need to sign up again? No. Log in with your existing account and apply. Your sites, billing and affiliate dashboard all live in the same account.
Do I need a paid plan to join? No. You need an InstaWP account with a verified email address. You never have to buy anything to earn.
Is there an approval process? Yes. The InstaWP team reviews every application and emails you the decision.
How do I get paid? Through Stripe, to the bank account you connect under Sell › Payouts. Follow How to Set Up a Payout Method.
Can I be paid in InstaWP credits instead? No. Affiliate commission is paid in cash through Stripe only.
How long does a referral stay attributed to me? The cookie lasts 60 days from the click. Once a customer is credited to you, they stay yours for the life of their account.
Why isn't my visit showing up? Make sure you're sharing the link on app.instawp.io exactly as issued. Links that point to instawp.com with ?via= aren't tracked, and each browser only counts once.
Can I change my referral link? Yes. Edit your code on the Links & Promo codes tab. It must be 3 to 32 characters and not already in use.
How is this different from the Referral Program in my account? The Referral Program rewards you and a friend with InstaWP credit. The Affiliate Program pays 5% recurring cash commission through Stripe and requires an approved application.
