Manage Hosting

Once you have connected hosting to your InstaWP account, you can create new sites with a custom domain name. It also assists you in managing your newly created site by carrying out various actions such as mapping the domain, deleting the site, and migrating it into your hosting account.

Create New Site



Step 1: Navigate to your hosting page.



Step 2: Select the connected hosting provider from the left panel of the interface.

For example, we have used the WPCloud (InstaWP Live Partner) for hosting.



Step 3: Click on the New Site button.

Note: Alternatively, you can click on the "New Site" button from the top right corner of the interface.



A new dialog will appear, asking you to create a new site by filling out the following fields:
FieldsDescription
Domain NameEnter your new Domain name.
Choose PHP versionThis shows the current PHP version of your website, you can also change it according to your preference.
PackThis shows the current pack details of the selected hosting provider.
Choose Data centerThis allows you to select different data centers from the following: bur, dca, dfw




Step 4: After entering the values, click on the Create button.



Then, you will see your created site on the hosting page.



Note: If you don’t see your created site on your hosting account or the error (host not live) occurs, you can click on the “Refresh” button from the right corner of the interface.



Manage connected hosting



InsaWP allows you to manage your created site by carrying out the following actions:

Map Domain
Delete Hosting Site
Migrate Site

Map Domain



You can connect a domain name to the hosting server to make it easier for people to find and remember your site with a web address. To do that, you can follow the below steps:

Step 1: Click on the More actions button and select the Map Domain option from the dropdown list from the corresponding site on which you want to map the domain.



A new dialog will appear, asking you to input a Domain name for mapping.



Step 2: After entering a relevant domain name, click on the Map Domain button.



Then, you will see a success message on your screen.

Delete Hosting Site



You can delete your hosting site permanently when not in use anymore or if it contains outdated information.

Step 1: Click on the More actions button and select the Delete option from the dropdown list from the corresponding site on which you want to delete.



A new modal window for confirmation will appear, asking you “Are you sure you want to delete the site permanently”.



Step 2: To confirm, you can copy & paste the current site URL in the empty field as shown in the snippet below.



Step 3: Click on the Delete button.



Then, you will see a success message on the screen.



Migrate Site



You can migrate any WordPress site to your connected hosting provider. It involves copying all files and databases related to the website and then updating settings for the WordPress website to work on its new server. To do that, you can follow the below steps:

Step 1: Navigate to Create a new live site dialog window. For more information, please refer to the Migrate Site document.



You need to enter the values in the following fields:

Select your hosting providerThis allows you to select your connected hosting provider.
Domain NameEnter your new Domain name
Choose PHP versionThis shows the current PHP version of your website, you can also change it according to your preference.
PackThis shows the current pack details of the selected hosting provider.
Choose Data centerThis allows you to select different data centers from the following: bur, dca, dfw


Step 2: After that, click on the Create & Migrate button.



Then, you can see your created site on the hosting page.
