Mapping Domains

WaaS Domain Mapping User Guide

This guide provides a step-by-step process for mapping a domain to a purchased site from WaaS. By following these instructions, you will successfully link your domain, ensuring that your website is accessible under the desired domain name. The process includes domain mapping, updating A records, and verifying the successful mapping of your website.

Step 1

Begin by clicking the "Map Domain" button after purchasing a site from WaaS. Enter your desired domain name.

Step 2

Enter the domain name, such as dogshopwaas.com, and proceed to point it to the appropriate A records. Copy the necessary information and return to your domain management service to enter the IP addresses.

Step 3

Ensure all existing A records for the root domain are deleted. For the root website, use "@" as the host when entering new records.

Step 4

Set the value as the provided IP address. Ensure accuracy in this step and select the appropriate setting for the A record.

Step 5

Create a new record with the new IP address. Once this is done, confirm that all IP addresses are correctly entered.

Step 6

Select the primary domain and click on "Map Domain." This action will initiate the domain mapping process. The website should now be usable under the primary domain. The system will perform search and replace operations internally to update the website to the new domain.

Step 7

Allow one to two minutes for the changes to take effect. Once everything is ready, visiting the website should redirect you to the main URL. Thank you for following this guide.
