InstaWP makes it easy to launch, test, and go live with WordPress using its cloud hosting platform. You can spin up new sites, experiment safely, and choose the right hosting plan for your project. With InstaWP cloud hosting, you can start small in a safe environment and then move your project to production with a few clicks.

Whether you’re testing plugins, building client projects, or launching a production site, InstaWP’s cloud-based site plans give you the flexibility to scale resources, manage costs, and ensure performance. In this guide, we’ll cover how to:

Let’s get started 🚀

Create New Site in the InstaWP Environment

Sign in to your InstaWP account to access the main dashboard. Locate the Add Sites button on the Sites page.

A pop-up window will appear. Configure the values for your site according to your preferences, and then click Next Step.

Now, choose your preferred tools for your site and click the Next Step button.

A site plan window will appear. You'll need to choose a site plan from the site plan list according to your preference.

Understanding InstaWP's Cloud-Hosted Site Plans

InstaWP offers flexible WordPress cloud hosting plans that adapt to your project’s needs. Every plan includes essentials like CDN, backups, Shield protection, and site management tools. When you create a site, you’ll need to select a site plan. Each plan is designed for a different stage of your workflow:

  • Free & Sandbox: Best for staging, demos, testing new features
  • Starter & Plus: Suitable for small production sites like blogs or portfolios
  • Pro & Turbo: Designed for business websites, campaigns, or WooCommerce stores
  • Elite: For large-scale projects, high-traffic blogs, or SaaS platforms

For more details, check the Site Plans documentation.

Free and Sandbox plans are best for staging and testing. They don’t include CDN or Shield and have limited resources. The best choice is to start small and upgrade or downgrade anytime. Now, and click Create Site. Your site will Go Live in a while.

Switching Cloud Hosting Plans

Your site’s needs can change over time. InstaWP’s cloud hosting lets you upgrade when you need more storage, faster backups, or better performance and downgrade when traffic drops or fewer features are needed. Plan switching is instant, scale the resources up or down per site with no downtime.

When to Upgrade

Upgrade your plan if you notice:

  • Increasing traffic or user activity
  • Frequent resource limits (CPU, memory, or workers)
  • Need for more disk space or faster performance
  • A shift to eCommerce or resource-heavy sites
  • Requirement for premium CDN or daily backups

👉 Example: Moving from Starter to Plus when your blog starts gaining higher traffic.

To upgrade your plan from an downgraded plan check Upgrade Site Plans documentation.

When to Downgrade

Downgrade your plan if:

  • The project is in maintenance mode
  • You no longer need advanced features (like extra workers or premium CDN)
  • Traffic has dropped after a campaign or seasonal spike
  • You want to reduce hosting costs for smaller projects

👉 Example: Moving from Turbo to Pro when your WooCommerce site scales down after peak season.

To downgrade your plan from an upgraded plan check Downgrade Site Plans documentation.
