Downgrade Site Plans

InstaWP lets you downgrade any site to a lower plan at any time, directly from the dashboard. Each site is managed independently, so downgrading one site has no effect on your others. This is useful when a site no longer needs the resources of its current plan and you want to reduce costs while keeping it active.

Before You Begin

Not all sites can be downgraded immediately. If your current plan includes a feature that is not available on the lower plan, the downgrade will be blocked until you disable that feature first.

📌 Example: The Sandbox plan does not include Shield. If Shield is currently enabled on your site, you must disable it before you can downgrade to Sandbox.

Steps to Downgrade

Step 1: Open the plan selector

Go to the Sites page and click the Change Plan icon on the site you want to downgrade.

💡 Tip: To check what plan your site is currently on, open the site's settings page before proceeding.

Step 2: Choose a lower plan

A pop-up will appear showing all available plans with their features and pricing. Review the options and select the plan you want to move to.

Step 3: Confirm the change

Click Change Plan. The downgrade takes effect immediately and the dashboard will confirm the plan has been updated.

📌 Billing: Since InstaWP bills daily, you will only be charged at the new lower rate from the moment the downgrade is applied. There is no penalty or fee for switching.
