Export Site

InstaWP allows you to export your WordPress sites to use in your local system. Your site's content is downloaded into a zip file (a type of file used to transport data) that you can then import to another WordPress site, another host, or even another platform.

In this documentation, we will explore the steps to export a Site onto the local system.

Let’s get started 🚀

Step 1: Sign In to your InstaWP account and you will navigate to its dashboard.

Step 2: Click on the Staging button from the top navigation bar.

Step 3: Click on the Three dots and select the Export As option from the dropdown list corresponding to the site for which you want to export the data.

Step 4: Select the LocalWP option from the “Export As” dropdown list.

A new dialog will appear, asking you to confirm your action “Export site as LocalWP” in a zip format file.

Step 5: Click on the Export button.

You will receive an email after a few minutes (depending on the size of your website) with a link to download the zip file.

Step 6: Click on the Download File button to save the website on your local computer.

Afterwards, you can then drag and drop this zip to the LocalWP interface.
