Add Connect Plugin to Site

InstaWP allows you to add and install WordPress Plugins on existing sites, as well as connect sites directly from your live website URL to construct staging sites. To help you identify problems and keep your live website from breaking.

In this documentation, we will explore the steps to connect the WordPress plugin to the existing site.

Let’s get started 🚀

Step 1: To access the dashboard, sign in to your InstaWP account.



Step 2: Click on the Connects button from the top navigation bar.



You will be taken to the Connected Site page.



Step 3: Click on the Connect Site button from the top right corner of the interface.



A new modal window will appear, allowing you to connect your existing site and create a staging site through any of the following two methods.



Method 1

Step 1: Copy the live website URL of the corresponding site to which you want to connect. For more information, you can refer to the View Creds document.



Step 2: Paste the copied URL and click on the Connect Site button.



A new dialog box will appear on your existing site WP panel, asking for your approval for the connection on the Authorize Application.

Step 3: Click on the Yes I approve of this connection button.



Then, you will be redirected to the Connects page with the connected site.

Method 2

InstaWP allows you to add & install the Connect plugin manually to your website. For more about the plugin, you can refer to this link.

Step 1: Go to the Plugins (Add New) section of your existing site WP panel.



Step 2: Enter the keyword InstaWP to add the plugin.



Step 3: Locate the InstaWP Connect plugin, click on Install Now, and then the Activate button.



This will add the plugin to your existing site, allowing you to create a staging site from it. For more information, you can refer to the Create Staging Site document.
