How to Migrate a WordPress Multi-Site with InstaWP
The WordPress Multisite feature lets you make and manage more than one WordPress site from a single dashboard. Multi-site migration involves transferring all the sub-sites within a WordPress multi-site network from one hosting environment to another. This process ensures that your network structure, content, and configurations remain intact.
This document outlines the steps required to migrate a multi-site. It includes connecting source and destination sites and performing the migration process efficiently. Follow the instructions carefully to ensure a smooth and successful migration.
Begin by navigating to https://app.instawp.io/migrate. Enter the URL of your source site and click on Connect to establish a connection.
Approve the connection request for your source site.
Wait for InstaWP Connect to install and establish the connection.
The InstaWP Connect plugin is installed on your site to securely transfer your data and make the migration process quick and easy. It connects your source and destination sites, ensuring everything moves smoothly.
Once completed, you will be redirected to the migration tab to confirm the connection status.
Enter the URL of your destination site and click Connect to establish the connection.
Approve the connection request for your destination site.
Again, after InstaWP Connect is installed and connected, the migration tab will open automatically, confirming the connection status.
Once connected, click " Start Migration" and confirm the migration to initiate the process.
The migration process will transfer files and the database.
Please wait for the migration to complete.
After completing the migration, manually verify your destination site to ensure everything has been transferred correctly and is functioning as expected. Check all key elements, such as content, plugins, themes, and configurations, to confirm the migration's success.
