Create Template

A template is a monetized, pre-configured WordPress site or layout, including themes, plugins, settings, and content. It's used to quickly spin up new websites with the same setup. InstaWP allows you to create monetized templates and sell them through your channel or InstaWP.

Create a New Template


InstaWP allows you to create a new template through any of the following two methods:



Method 1


Step 1: Go to the Sell > Templates page and click on the Add Template button to create a new template. A new modal window will appear with a site list from which you can create a template.




Step 2: Select a site you want to create your template with. Then, click Next.






Step 3: You will now be prompted to save the Template by filling out the following fields:

Description of the template

Template Pricing

Select free template or paid template that can be used by you or your team.

Instant Template

When you create a new site from the template, it takes about 5- secs of time. Selecting this option will instantly create a new site. Only available for premium accounts.



Now, enter the template name and other options according to your preference and click Save. Your template will be created within a few moments.





Initially, the state of the temples is in progress. It takes some time to be ready. Once the template status is changed to ready then the user can create the site from this template but not before.


Method 2



Step 1: Go to Sites and click on the Save Template/template button from the site you want to make the template with.





Step 2: Enter template name, select Template from the options, and other options according to your preference, and click Save. Your template will be created within a few moments.






πŸ‘‰ Note: If a template based on this site already exists, you will find "Save As New" or "Overwrite Existing" radio buttons at the top. To test, you can create a new template from the same site from the site page.


πŸ‘‰ Note: Once you've created your template, you can delete the parent site from which you chose to generate it.




Delete a Template


To delete a template, you can follow the steps from the demonstration below:



Step 1: Go to Sell > Template page and click on the vertical ellipsis button from the template you want to delete. Select Delete from the options.





Step 2: A confirmation window will appear. Click the Delete button from the window.
