Go to your WordPress site Dashboard and select Plugins > Add New Plugin. Search for the Wordfence plugin. Now, install and activate. Activation will automatically take you to the license panel. Get your required license and complete installation.

Select Scan from the Wordfence dashboard and click Manage Scan. Now, select Custom Scan and tick all the options from below. Click Save Changes > Back to scan to save the settings and go to the previous dash.

Select Start New Scan.

It’ll take some minutes to complete the scan. You’ll get a detailed report after scanning. Now find the issues and fix them one by one.

Now, click Firewall > Manage WAF. Click Optimize the Wordfence Firewall from the firewall options. Select the recommended option based on your test and click Continue. Close and go through the other options and tick or untick according to your preferences. Click Save Changes when you are done.

Note: If you are okay with premium tools, then you can also try Sucuri or Patchstack. They are also good security tools as well.
