Delete Site

Use this guide to permanently delete any site from InstaWP that you no longer need. Deleting a site removes all of its files, database, and configuration; this action cannot be undone.

Before You Begin

  • You must be the site owner or have admin access to the InstaWP account.
  • Only Temporary sites can be deleted directly. If a site is marked as Permanent, you must first change it to Temporary before proceeding (see the note below). Click to know how?
  • Have the site URL ready; you will need it to confirm deletion.

How to Delete a Site

Go to the Sites page, click on the horizontal ellipsis button, and select the Delete option.

Copy the site URL and paste it to confirm. Now, click the Delete button.

Once you confirm deletion, all files, databases, and settings for this site are permanently removed. There is no way to recover a deleted site.

If you think you might need the site later, consider taking a Snapshot before deleting, or simply leave the site inactive.

What Gets Deleted

When you delete a site, the following are permanently removed:

  • All WordPress files and the file system
  • The site database and all its data (posts, pages, users, settings)
  • Site-specific configurations set in InstaWP
  • Any active domain mapping associated with the site

Note: Snapshots you have taken of the site are not automatically deleted. They remain in your account until you remove them manually.
